Marie is a veteran of competitive wave riding having been a fixture on a number of sport’s former wave World Tours and a one-time Vice World Champ! If you search out the 2011 KSP event that took place in Le Morne, Mauritius, on Youtube you’ll see Marie taking on maxing One Eye on a day when many riders would have had serious doubts about taking on that fabled break.

This year she kicked off her season with a solid fourth place finish in Cape Verde and was well in contention for the top five overall before an unfortunate wrist injury in Portugal put her out of the running.

We look forward to seeing her back in action in 2019!

Wave riding
Favourite spot:
One Eye, Mauritius
Favourite thing about competing on tour?:
Sharing the waves with other girls and trying to improve my skills in competition makes me push my own limits more and more!
Standout moment 2017:
I have two! Being able to ride Ponta Preta and having such an amazing comp in Dakhla with all the girls with amazing vibes.
Favourite competitors to ride against and watch:
I love riding against my friend Odile Cavin, even as competitors we always motivate each other to go further and give our best and always with a big smile. I'm inspired by Moona’s smooth and natural surfing style and also by Jalou’s power when she hits the waves. My goal is trying to improve to have a mixture of both styles.
2018 goals:
Reaching the podium, riding some different waves and having some great experiences!
How do you train?:
We don't get great waves where I live so I will often travel to a location before the event as the best way to train is on the wave you will compete on. I also go SUPing in the waves and ride my Carver skateboard too!
