Camille Delannoy - GKA Kite-Surf World Tour
Photo: Ydwer van der Heide

Although still only 18 years-old, Camille Delannoy is already something of a tour veteran and this year is his third year competing on the GKA Kite-Surf World Tour. He was born and raised in France before moving to Prea, in Brazil, with his family and that’s where he honed his high-powered riding style. He always seems most at home when the conditions are really cranking and his strapless freestyle level is high. His front rolls are some of the most fluid, tweaked and stylish out there and he commits hard when out on the water. He managed seventh place overall in both of the last two years and he’ll be pushing to improve on that in 2018.

Favourite thing about competing on tour?:
What I like the most about the GKA tour is I think the fact that we are all a big family. Even if we are competing against each other, there is a really good spirit between everyone.
Favourite competitors to ride against and watch:
I had a few heats this year against Paulino and I had some great time competing against him. I’m watching all of the riders during competitions, just to see what others are doing!
2018 goals:
I’m going to try to have a better general ranking but also be more consistent.
How do you train?:
I’m doing a lot of CrossFit to be sure that my body is ready when the conditions are getting really tough. I also enjoy a good surf session and of course, when I can, skiing!
